PROFILE

Sunkanmi is a meticulous professional with over 16 years of experience in financial reporting, auditing, internal control, risk management, taxation, and strategic financial management. His expertise spans through diverse industries including Hospitality, Logistics, Banking, Consulting and FMCG sectors where he consistently demonstrated strong analytical skills, regulatory compliance knowledge, and a commitment to delivering financial excellence.

He holds a B.sc degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin and a second degree (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a registered member of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

Adept at risk assessment, internal control and financial reporting, he thrives in fast-paced environments, collaborating with stakeholders to drive efficiency and compliance. He was once a Head of Internal Audit in TNT/IAS International, Cluster Control Officer in Diamond bank Plc (now Access bank), Group Head of Internal Audit and Control in Eain Capital Group Limited, Consultant in Deloitte Nigeria (seconded to UACN and Twinnings Ovaltine) and Finance Manager in Qingyang Industrial Park Limited.

Sunkanmi joined Gateway Mortgage Bank Limited in November 2025 as the Head of Internal Audit.
